Are wooden pencils biodegradable? Verify each material before making the claim.
A wooden barrel may biodegrade, but a whole pencil cannot be assumed to. Check coatings, cores, ferrules, erasers, packaging, evidence, and approved wording.
Finished pencils: 100 cartons per style, with 2,880 pencils per carton (288,000 pencils per style). For mixed orders totaling more than 300 cartons, the minimum is 50 cartons per style (144,000 pencils). An order totaling exactly 300 cartons does not qualify for this exception.

Are wooden pencils biodegradable?
The uncoated wood portion may biodegrade under suitable conditions, but that does not prove the whole pencil is biodegradable. Graphite or colored cores, adhesives, lacquer, printing, ferrules, erasers, sharpeners, retail packs, and local treatment conditions can change the result. Buyers should make only component-specific claims supported by current evidence for the exact product and market.

Do not transfer a wood result to graphite, colored core, lacquer, print, foil, or adhesive without matching evidence.
Ferrule and eraser
Treat metal and elastomer components separately and provide separation or disposal instructions only when verified.

These are different end-of-life claims. Record which component is covered, the market, collection or treatment availability, separation instructions, conditions, time frame, method, excluded parts, and evidence.
